Quill & Scroll International Honorary Society
The Offices & Responsibilities for Quill & Scroll for FHS are as follows:
President: Will coordinate our elementary and middle school journalism visits. They will update the power points and presentations from last year and make contact with teacher and principals in lower grades to set up our visits. The president will also get clearance from Dr. Lonze for our teams to leave the school building during regular class time to make these visits. This is how it ran last year. Should work fairly easily.
Vice President: Will help the president when needed and be responsible for setting an agenda for our monthly First Friday after school 30 minute meetings. The VP will also check with the secretary and assist anyone needing help applying for scholarships or contests.
Secretary: Will report to Quill & Scroll the activities of our club and fill out the paper work for the new inductees in the Spring. The secretary will also help organize efforts and information for everyone in Journalism, Broadcast, or Yearbook to apply for contest and scholarships.
Fraser High School Requirements for Membership in Quill & Scroll:
You must meet these requirements:
a. At least high school sophomores.
b. Have the equivalent of a B grade point average, or be in the upper third of their class academically.
c. Produced superior work in some phase of journalism or school media – writing, editing, broadcasting, video, Web, etc.
d. Recommended by the media adviser (Mr. Flanagan).
